An interdisciplinary institutional platform for sustainable development at DBRAU.

The Centre of Excellence for Sustainability at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra is envisioned as an interdisciplinary institutional platform dedicated to advancing research, education, innovation and community engagement for sustainable development. The Centre brings together expertise from the University’s departments and institutes in environmental sciences, chemistry, physics, life sciences, agriculture, engineering, biotechnology, social sciences and other disciplines to address emerging environmental, technological and societal challenges.

The Centre will facilitate evidence-based research and collaborative initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular emphasis on climate action, environmental protection, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, water security, responsible resource use and inclusive development.

DBRAU already possesses a substantial research ecosystem relevant to sustainability, including its School of Life Sciences, Department of Environmental Studies and Environmental Toxicology, Department of Chemistry, Institute of Basic Science, Department of Agriculture Science, Institute of Engineering & Technology, Centre for Transdisciplinary Studies and Advanced Instrumentation Facility.

The Centre will serve as a nodal platform for connecting these existing academic and research strengths and translating research into practical solutions for the University, Agra region and wider society.

SDG Cell

SDG Cell, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Cell of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra functions as an institutional platform for coordinating, documenting and promoting the University's activities related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Cell facilitates coordination among academic departments, institutes, administrative units and stakeholders for the identification, implementation, monitoring and documentation of SDG-aligned initiatives. It supports the integration of sustainability into research, teaching and learning, campus operations, community engagement, institutional policies and partnerships.

The SDG Cell also facilitates the preparation of goal-wise evidence and institutional reporting, strengthening the University's contribution to sustainable development at the local, regional, national and global levels.
